Outlook "Forwarded" arrowing appearing as a "Reply" arrow

Tool bar shows both "reply" (purple) and "forward" (blue)  buttons active.  I have an email message highlighted in my inbox list of messages.  I left click on the forward button, an email window opens with the "FW" designator.  I type my message, hit send, and instead of a blue arrow, I get a purple arrow displaying on the message in the list.  All "forwards" display as "replies".

(I asked this before a while back, but wasn't notified of the responses--which did not resolved my question.)

Hi,

I found your previous thread below, and I have actually replied to it:

https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/eee298df-c7e2-4061-9313-1e541538b13c/2010-forwarded-messages-show-reply-arrow-not-forwarded-arrow?forum=outlook#ef4161a1-5a86-4aef-8e25-4fe6b1a95724

To help you with this issue, i suggest you first start Outlook in Safe Mode:

Press Win + R, type "outlook.exe /safe" in the blank box, press Enter.

If there's no such issue in Outlook Safe Mode, the icon is displayed correctly, please disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which one caused the problem.

If the issue persists, please refero to this link below, there are scenarios about "icon doesnt reflect the status", which may be helpful to you:

Melon,Thank you for responding!  Sorry, but I don't understand these instructions--"Press Win + R, type..."  Where am I doing that--on my desktop?  Am I pressing a button "Win" and typing the letter "R"?

Thanks!

Hi,

You can do this on desktop, hold the Win Button and then press R, it will bring up the "Run" dialog:

type "outlook.exe /safe" in the "Open:" field then press Enter or click on OK.

OK, tried that and got "Windows cannot find 'outlook.exe/safe'.  Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again".

Hi,

There is a space between "outlook.exe" and "/safe".

Running in safe mode made no difference.  Any more suggestions?
